2017 Guangzhou International Design Forum

Professor Michele Bonino, Director of the SCTCL, will take part to the 2017 Guangzhou International Design Forum sponsored by Guangzhou Municipal People's Government, held in November, 2017.
The forum will focus on various areas including Urban Planning, Architectural Design, Sustainable Design, Municipal Engineering and Transportation, Urban Public Arts and History of Guangzhou, to discuss around the main topic chosen for the selected year: “Design-Driven City.

CUHK-POLITO Master Theses Joint Studio - CALL FOR POSITIONS

We are looking for 10 highly motivated MArch students interested in starting their master
thesis with the participation to the second “CUHK-POLITO Joint Studio” organized by The
Chinese University of Hong Kong & Politecnico di Torino. The duration of the studio is 7
months (late December 2017-February 2018 part-time; March to July 2018 full-time work)
during which students are introduced to a challenging issue to be addressed with design tools
in partnership with students from Hong Kong. Design proposals will be supervised by both
POLITO and CUHK tutors with expertise in architecture, urban and landscape design,
environmental engineering and history of architecture and landscape.

MIT Lecture by Michele Bonino and Filippo De Pieri: The Danweis of Beijing and the Notion of “Industrial Heritage” in Contemporary China.

Professor Michele Bonino (Director of the South China Torino Collaboration Lab) together with Professor Filippo De Pieri will give a lecture at MIT on April the 11th entitled: The Danweis of Beijing and the Notion of “Industrial Heritage” in Contemporary China.

Polito students and professors attend three workshops in China

Immediately after the end of the Chinese Happy New Year Festival, the Politecnico di Torino sent a series of teachers and collaborators to run three different workshops in collaboration with respective Chinese Universities. A big number of Italian students from Polito side are engaged in those activities exploring several architectural projects and research themes that goes from the technological innovation in construction industry to large scale urban redevelopment within the Chinese city. All the students involved are excited from the challenges that working on a similar context can offer and they are moreover strongly motivated by the interdisciplinary and international environment.
