Work was divided in 14 working teams corresponding each to one specific site in the Changmen Historical District in Suzhou. The workshop reflected on the possibility to demolish modern buildings built in the urban fabric since 1949 and imagine new interventions in the historical blocks. The new voids created offered the occasion to introduce innovation, to explore a contemporary language more sensitive and more elegant, or to create pedestrian connections through the blocks.
